Rp 1.6 trillion of which is for subsidizing KRL passengers. Zulfikri assessed the amount of the subsidy to cover the losses charged to the community as an impact of the congestion estimated at around Rp 65 trillion. "We provide large subsidies here, so that there is shifting to more efficient public transportation, what the government gets is economic value," he said. This is considered different from the long-distance train rates that do not get subsidies because they have been assessed with the ability or purchasing power of the community. "Try if the KRL tariff is IDR 10,000, people will return to the motorcycle," he said. However Zulfikri acknowledged that in order to create a sustainable business, KCI must be encouraged from the commercial side, therefore he was looking for ways to subsidize schemes that were more targeted. "What are the methods so that subsidies are on target, such as electricity per kwh, which differs from simple houses to good homes. Now we have to take care of the KRL travel time first because there is still a line, "he said. Regarding KRL disruption, Zulfikri said that currently KRL trips have reached the maximum level, namely 938 trips per day. For that, he continued, better care is needed to overcome problems such as rail, signaling, and upper flow electricity. In addition, KRL infrastructure is currently quite old and needs to be rejuvenated. "We see maybe because we don't do better maintenance," he said.
