Jakarta MRT Parts Guaranteed
12 April 2019JAKARTA, KOMPAS - As a new mode with a new system as well, BUMD PT MRT Jakarta has not been alone in handling the maintenance and maintenance of the integrated highway mode (MRT). Nippon Sharyo as a train producer will participate in the provision of Jakarta MRT needs. This train has a special line and a special system.
Muhammad Effendi, Director of Operations and Maintenance of PT MRT Jakarta, on Thursday (04/11/2019), explained that PT MRT Jakarta still received a 2-year guarantee from Nippon Sharyo. According to the contract, all spare parts for the 96 Jakarta MRT trains will be supplied by Nippon Sharyo. After that, the Jakarta MRT must buy spare parts.
Expert staff from the MRT manufacturer also assisted with the maintenance of this train. In addition, hundreds of Jakarta MRT expert technicians are expected to be able to learn and absorb ways to deal with the high-tech train. At the beginning of the preparation for operations, Jakarta MRT technicians were sent to Japan to study the handling of these trains.
Just like the KRL maintenance managed by PT Kereta Commuterline Indonesia (KCI), the Jakarta MRT Maintenance Division also has regular, daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and large-scale daily maintenance calers every 4 years. This new train and maintenance is expected to suppress travel disruptions in the Jakarta MRT system.
Hold 30 years
In the Jakarta MRT work package, the procurement of 96 trains is included in the 108 contract package (CP) worth a total of 1.2 trillion. When averaged, this new train unit costs 12.5 billion rupiah. Hirotuki Idei, General Manager of the International Project Department at Toyokawa Plant, Nippon Sharyo LTD, said that as a city train, the Jakarta MRT train is made of stainless. With Jakarta's damp and hot weather, the steel train can last up to 30 years if followed by good maintenance.
The price of a new train for the Jakarta MRT is indeed far more expensive than the price of a used train used for KRL Commuterline. Equally from Japan, the price of 1 used KRL unit is around 1 billion rupiah.
KCI Maintenance Engineering Director John Robertho Tuman, on Wednesday said the age of the train when purchased from Japan was over 25 years. "There the 25-year-old train has retired. Well, the train that we bought. Currently KRL produced in 1985 and 1993 is still operating in Indonesia, "he said.
KRL operators also have difficulty obtaining spare parts because factories in Japan have not produced spare parts for the old KRL series in Indonesia.
Collaboration with Tokyo Metro and JR East as KRL producers still used by Jabodetabek KRL is also carried out.
As happened recently, several KRL disruptions occurred due to the old electric train components. John said, currently there are 968 units or a total of 99 KRL circuits which are the responsibility of KCI.
