"This condition is followed by 99 percent of Pangkep Regency and 80 percent of Maros," said Zulfikri at a webinar related to the readiness to operate the Makassar-Parepare line, Monday (16/8/2021).

He said, with the progress of land acquisition being faster than previously predicted, his party was optimistic that this National Strategic Project (PSN) could be completed in 2022.

Specifically for land acquisition for PT Semen Tonasa in Pangkep Regency, he continued, the progress is approaching 90 percent.

Meanwhile, regarding PSN funding, it is recognized that APBN funds dominate around Rp. 6 trillion that has been disbursed, including to support the land acquisition program. Meanwhile, South Sulawesi's APBD funds are still small, due to the limited budget.

In addition to the Director General who was the key speaker at the webinar activity initiated by the Railway Society, the Regional Secretary of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government Abd Hayat Gani, who represented the Acting Governor of South Sulawesi, also conveyed the results of his observations in the field.

According to Gani, the land acquisition process is faster than the 2022 target, because it is carried out using a local wisdom approach.

Meanwhile, the construction of the railway line in Sulawesi has begun. In 2015, the Makassar Parepare railway line is targeted for completion in 2023.
